Jennifer Jones-Cavness - Head Trainer
USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist
Certified British Horse Society Assistant Instructor
Certified American Riding Instructor
Jennifer Jones-Cavness has earned her USDF Bronze and Silver medals and is currently working towards her Gold. She is
also a certified British Horse Society Assistant Instructor and holds a Grooms Certificate after spending a year studying
at Wellington Riding in Heckfield, England (just outside London). In addition, Jennifer is certified with the American
Riding Instructors Association.
Jennifer has been riding horses all her life, beginning with hunter, jumpers, and eventing and ultimately choosing to
specialize in Dressage. The opportunity to work with many varied breeds has helped Jennifer to develop a training
philosophy based on intuition and understanding of the horses’ individual requirements. All training, for both horse and
rider, is designed to coordinate with their own rate of learning and physical development. Believing that a rider needs
a well-balanced seat to better communicate with the horse, seat lessons are offered on safe and well schooled lunging
horse. This, in coordination with either training or lessons on a student’s own horse, gives a well-rounded program.
Specializing in starting of young horses and training through FEI has given Jennifer the opportunity to develop trust and
confidence in the horses she trains and to be successful partners, at both Regional and National competitions, for
herself, her horses, and her students. Continued education is vital in any trainers success and, therefore, Jennifer
regularly participates in clinics, competitions, and symposiums.
Jennifers experience and connections are also available to help you look for your next competion horse!
